Management Information System (MIS) has been more interesting than I though. All the topics that we have seen so far are totally applicable in any business it does not matter if you are employee or you are the owner. In my case, I will take advantage of both because I will use this knowledge to apply it in my job here in Canada where I am employee and also in Mexico where I have a business, and I am exited because with this knowledge certainly our productivity will increase. During this course we have learned how to create processes using Lucid charts software, we learned to make pivot tables in excel which is no complicate at all however is tremendously useful to visualize in graphics or charts your data. We learn about something called Montecarlo Simulation which is a excel formula used to run predictions according to certain sore of data given. Nevertheless, I have to dive in deeper to understand better when or how can I use it.
one day our professor organized a visit from an executive director from a company who works developing augmented reality tools, and I had the chance to try one of those augmented reality googles, that was my first time wearing that kind of googles. The experience was surprisingly exited, it feels like real, the spaces emerged in front of me were like part of the same space where I was. That experience it let me with the curiosity to do more research about it and thinking in all the infinity possibilities to use them in a near future.
Now we are learning about two important tools. Wix and Tableau or Power BI. Wix is a web developer design site to create in an easy way web pages for personal o business porpoise without been an expert. Tableau or Power BI are tools to generate statics or analytics based on data provided from different sources given in the portal or using your own data to compare or to help you to enhance your productivity. As I mentioned, I just started to learn about this new digital tools; thus, it will take me some time to better understand how use them perfectly. Certainly, I am exited with this new adventure in my life.
